Like a Sick Yellow Norika Sefa

Like A Sick Yellow looks at intimate moments archived on filmmaker Norika Sefa's family VHS tapes. Caputred in the Kosovan suburbs of the 90s, these images document Nora's pre-wedding rites and celebratory moments shared with loved ones. Between reflections on identity and melancholy, points of view multiply in a collage veiled in a funeral atmosphere. The degradation of images, by a medium subjugated by time, points to the troubled nature of memory, which is lost in the rubble of a profound shock for the indefinite moment. The narrative, timid in its questioning, points to the unexplored possibilities and interrupted future of the filmmaker's family. The shadow of a war at its boiling point haunts the family home and the people who live there. (MF)
